Retail Shop Assistant

Part Time (Tuesdays/Thursdays 11:30am-6:30pm as well as some weekends and holidays as needed - Approximately 15-20 hours per week)

$16.00 an hour

**DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES OF RETAIL SHOP ASSISTANT:**

Assist with all aspects of store operation including ringing up all sales through the POS system and assisting new adoption clients with purchasing items in the store including collar, leash, food, etc. Answer any questions new clients may have regarding pet supplies needed. Re-stock and organize the store on a regular basis to maintain a professional and inviting atmosphere. Assist with displaying and pricing new items in the store and consistently provide feedback to Retail Store Manager regarding comments or questions from clients in regards to products or services offered. Assist with store promotional sales and provide feedback as needed. Will assist with monthly physical count inventory, provide excellent customer service to clients and give accurate and knowledgeable information on products sold in the store. Regularly check Center general voicemail box messages and forward to the appropriate departments. Maintain compliance with Center policies and procedures and participate in Center activities and events as required.

**REQUIREMENTS FOR RETAIL SHOP ASSISTANT:**

Minimum 2 years' experience in a retail environment required. Must have experience with Point of Sale systems and pet store products. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work as part of a team as well as independently. Excellent organization and planning skills required. Must be detail-oriented. Knowledge of Word, Excel and SAGE programs a plus.
